Founded in 1957, the SARAH agencies serve more than 1,700 individuals with intellectual and other disabilities annually. Our programs and services include residential housing and support, day programs and recreational activities, transitional and employment services, respite care and birth-to-three early intervention services. SARAH’s primary goal is to help individuals live fulfilling, productive and engaged lives within the community.

The SARAH Foundation is responsible for raising funds to support the goals and activities of the SARAH service agencies by generating critical resources needed to allow all three agencies to continue providing quality programs and services in the community. In collaboration with the SARAH service agencies, the Foundation secures contributions, manages donor relationships, creates partnerships, develops fundraising campaigns, hosts annual events and builds community awareness and goodwill. The Foundation oversees the SARAH Endowment Fund and coordinates all donations in accordance with the wishes of the donors and SARAH’s mission.

SARAH Inc. is a leader in the human services industry providing supports to children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or delays. The SARAH Inc. KIDSTEPS program is one of the largest Birth to Three Early Intervention programs in Connecticut. KIDSTEPS is now offering Autism Services and is expanded their service area to support 50 towns throughout the state. SARAH Inc. also provides in-home, day support, transitional, and employment services to adults with differing abilities.
The KIDSTEPS Birth to Three program provides supports to more than 1400 children and families in a year. They are a state-approved Early Intervention program, with an autism designation, who helps families and their infants and toddlers. All the members on the KIDSTEPS team are local and familiar with the communities they serve.
The Adult Services programs support over 215 adults. These programs work with several neighboring businesses throughout multiple counties to garner and maintain volunteer and employment opportunities. SARAH Inc. also partners with the local school systems to help graduates transition into services.

SARAH SENECA Residential Services, Inc. provides and facilitates quality residential options for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Individuals served by SARAH SENECA receive staff support according to their needs. Serving the towns of Branford, North Branford, Guilford, Madison and Clinton, SARAH SENECA supports approximately 80 participants, has 140 employees, and an operating budget of $6.1 million.

SARAH Tuxis is a residential and community resources agency dedicated to delivering supports that empower and enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A dedicated staff of 285 supports 40 people in 11 group homes and more than 60 others through individualized services along the shoreline communities of southern Connecticut. SARAH Tuxis has an operational budget of $8 million.
