The SARAH Gala made its return and what a night it was!
It was great to be back for the 2021 SARAH Gala with so many friends and supporters. Thank you to all of our generous sponsors (listed below), attendees and volunteers for a wonderful and successful evening. Many attendees participated in the silent and live auctions by actively bidding on a variety of exciting items and experiences as well as participating in the raise the paddle portion of the auction at the end of the evening.
Highlights from the event included an incredible performance by the SARAH Tuxis Tuners to kick-off the evening program and a powerful message from event chair Carolyn Wolff about the impact of COVID on her son, Harrison, who lives in a SARAH supported residence.
We honored our top event sponsor, the Bishop Family, as they celebrate the 150th anniversary of Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market and Winery. Carrie Bishop Healy spoke briefly on behalf of her family about their history as a founding family of SARAH, support for individuals with intellectual and/or other disabilities through their business and family experiences as well as Carrie’s current role as a board member for the SARAH Foundation. Thank you Bishop’s Orchards and the Bishop family for your generous support of SARAH and countless other local organizations.
The gala committee, led by event chair Carolyn Wolff, created a beautiful and memorable evening. Joining Carolyn on the committee were the following members – Andrea Bilskis, Sally Esborn, Lisa Miksis and Jamie Rubin. Thank you all! The evening went smoothly thanks in large part to the support we received from a team of volunteers from Guilford Savings Bank helping with the check-in/check-out process, especially as we worked through using a new online bidding system for the silent auction.
John Peters served as the auctioneer and conducted a rousing live auction with incredible results. Mark Johnson Photography captured wonderful images throughout the evening. The Grateful Friend band performed during cocktail hour and Flowers on the Green put together beautiful centerpieces for each table. Our thanks to these talented professionals for their time, energy and creativity.
